I’ve put a few of the most common questions together here to help guide you through things.
Deposits & Cancellations
We understand that plans can change. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
A card deposit is required to secure all bookings.
Cancellations or changes made with 48+ hours’ notice will receive a full refund of the deposit or can be transferred to a new appointment.
Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged at 50% of the appointment cost.
Missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged in full.
We do understand that genuine emergencies happen. If this is the case, please contact the salon directly and we’ll always do our best to help.
Allergy Alert Tests (Patch Tests)
A valid skin allergy alert test is required for all colour services.
Please book this at least 48 hours before your appointment.
Tests are required every 6 months, or sooner if you are making a significant colour change.
Finding Us & Parking
Chalk Hair is located in Brighton’s Fiveways area at 263 Preston Drove, BN1 6FL.
There is a parking space at the front of the salon, available on a first-come basis. If it’s taken, there is plenty of nearby on-street parking including Preston Drove, Ditchling Road, Hythe Road, and surrounding streets.
Most local parking is Pay & Display, with options for shorter and longer stays. Free parking can also be found a short walk away in surrounding residential streets.
We are easily accessible by bus, with routes 26, 46, and 5B stopping nearby, and the salon is around a 20–25 minute walk from London Road and Preston Park stations.

Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available to purchase both in-salon and online.
They make a perfect gift and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
